USA’s Jenna Prandini equals Elaine Thompson world leading mark

Oregon sprinter/jumper Jenna Prandini equaled the 100m world lead of 10.92 seconds set by Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson, last Saturday at the 2015 UTech Classics, Kingston, Jamaica, with a wind-legal 10.92 on Saturday at Mt. Sac Relays. The time also erased her personal best of 11.11 seconds.

Prandini is the reigning Division I Indoor and Outdoor Long Jump champion, finished ahead of Ana Silva Brazil (11.01 seconds/ new South American record). Another American Muna Lee was third in 11.02. English Gardner was disqualified from the race due to a false start. The wind reading was 1.4mps.

The men’s long jump was another cracker event on the day as, Jeff Henderson jumped 27-10.75 / 8.50m (legal, +1.8). It is the longest jump since Dwight Phillips in 2009. He won ahead of Japanese Yohei Sugai with 8.18m and Prem Kumar Kumaravel of India with 8.04m

The winner in the women’s 100m hurdles Amercican junior prospect, Dior Hall clockin a fast 12.89 seconds to win ahead of Lindsay Lindley (12.97) and Yvette Lewis (13.05). Jamaica’s Indira Spence was fourth in 13.15 seconds.
Christabel Nettey of Canada impressed in the women’s long jump leaping to a world lead of 6.98m. Finishing second Americans Tori Polk with 6.47m ahead of fellow country woman Janay DeLoach- Soukup with 6.46m. Jamaican Shanice McPherson representing her university, New Mexico Highlands was 5th in 6.29m.

Prandini returned later in the day to win the 200m in 22.42 ahead of Phyllis Francis 22.70 and English Gardner 22.74.
