Three triple winners highlight JBA’s Badminton Junior Classics 2018

Three Triple Winners, Tahlellah Townsend of St Andrew High for Girls, Jelanie Nelson of Ardenne Prep, Mandeville Campus and Aundre Brown of Wolmers’ Boys were all crowned Triple Champions at the Jamaica Badminton Association’s Badminton Junior Classics 2018 which ended its Under 11, 13 and Under 15 categories at the Constant Spring Golf Club on Sunday.

Townsend won her three titles in the U15 category by winning the Girls Singles 21-14; 21-18 over U13 Girls Singles Champion Rihanna Rust of St Richards Primary. Townsend also won the U15 Girls Doubles with Nia Chambers and the U15 Mixed Doubles with Aundre Brown.

Aundre Brown completed his Triple by winning the U15 Boys Singles 21-9; 21-6 over Keyon’Dre McBean and partnered with Tijae Hinds to win the U15 Boys Doubles in addition to his U15 Mixed Doubles crown with Townsend.

Ten Year Old Jelanie Nelson won his Triple by winning the U11 Boys Singles 21-4;21-6 over Caiden Yen, the U13 Boys Singles 23-21; 21-18 over Zachery Lim Sang and the U13 Boys Doubles with partner Trae Rodney.

U13 Girls Singles Champion Rihanna Rust also won the U13 Mixed Doubles with partner Zachery Lim-Sang.

Other winners were: U11 Girls Singles – Rachael Givans 21-12; 21- 14 over Gabrielle Jones U13 Girls Doubles – Talyah Johnson and Kelsi McKay 21-8; 22-20-over Abbegale Baxer and Tatiana Boothe.

The Under 17 and Under 19 Competitions will be on June 16-17, 2018 at the Constant Spring Golf Club.
