Supreme Ventures Limited has presented ten schools from within and outside of the Corporate area with a total of 1500 tickets to watch the exciting JAAA Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) National Trials, happening June 30 – July 3 at the National Stadium. SVL has been title sponsor of the annual event for thirteen years, pumping some J$16M into this year’s staging. The company also sponsored the recently staged Junior Championships.

“This is perhaps the most important event on our sporting calendar, and we are proud to have our name associated with a meet of this magnitude and the extraordinary talent that will be on show at the stadium,” said President and CEO of SVL, Brian George. SVL has given fifty tickets for Friday, fifty for Saturday and fifty for Sunday to Denbigh, Denham Town, Porus, Calabar, Tacky, Yallahs, Edwin Allen, Decarteret, Holmwood and Kingston College High Schools for the Bleachers’ section of the stadium for Friday, July 1 through to Sunday, July 3. “We know manyof our young people want to be a part of this piece of history as it unfolds, and we thought that giving them tickets to see these athletes chase their Olympic dream would be a great way to do it,” he added.

According to Mr George, the ten schools chosen were a mixture of those with noted track and field history, as well as those who are not. “We wanted it to be a mixed bag, and to afford the schools who aren’t usually represented at events such as these, the opportunity to experience what it is like to see first-hand, the tremendous excitement that this event is. It’s also meant to show them the wealth of talent that our young people possess and to inspire them that they can be great at whatever they choose to do,” he said.

The championships will be used to select Jamaica’s track and field teams for the Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil from August 5-21.
