Pure National Ice, Jamaica’s newest ice manufacturers will be introducing a new innovation to the local track and field scene this season. The six month old company has come on as a sponsor for the Digicel Grand Prix, a six meet series, and will be providing an Ice Cold Therapy Zone for all schools and athletes at each Grand Prix Event, and in particular those schools and athletes who cannot afford the Cold-therapy.

Speaking at the launch of the series at the Terra Nova Hotel last week, Sales and Marketing Manager David Walton said, “We at Pure National ice would like to bring an international standard of Cold-therapy availability to Track and Field in Jamaica, in an effort to prepare our athletes for the world stage and as such we are pleased to be able to offer this to our athletes and schools.”

“This type of therapy is needed to support muscle recovery for the athletes who will be pushed to the limit during the month of February when the series will be contested. Pure National Ice will be the exclusive ice providers for the Digicel Grand Prix,” he continued.

Among the list of things being provided by Pure National are,

  • Sponsorship of mobile/ portable ice baths to be used at each event
  • 100% sponsorship of the ice to be used in ice baths for the athletes
  • Sponsorship of a % of bags to each school
