Lamine Diack steps away from IAF

The ex IAAF chief Lamine Diack who is now facing numerous allegations of involvement in corruption, announced his resignation as the president of the International Athletics Foundation.
In a statement released by the IAAF on Tuesday it read;
“The IAAF confirms it has tonight received a letter from Lamine Diack resigning his position as president of the International Athletics
This news came in light of the Senegalese native being provisionally suspended from his post as an honorary International Olympic Committee member.
The IAF honorary president HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and members of his organization will now engage in discussions regarding the IAF and the appointment of a new IAF President.
The IAF is the host of the IAAF Athletics Gala, which was scheduled for November 28, but has been cancelled, in wake of the present happenings.
