WORLD Championships shot put bronze medalist and ranked Shot Putter O’Dayne Richards continues to enjoy a rich vein of form post the Beijing World Championship. He managed to hang with the big boys at the IAAF World Challenge meeting in Berlin, Germany on Sunday.

He secured third place with a mark of 21.05m, behind Tom Walsh of New Zealand, 21.47 meters and the German David Storl, 21.19m.

He had success again on Monday at the IAAF World challenge meet in Zagreb, Croatia as he hurled the shot to 21.29 metres to finish second behind the New Zealander Tom Walsh.

Richards will look to cap off a very outstanding week when he lines up amongst the throwers at the AG Insurance Van Damme Diamond League meeting in Brussels, Belgium on Friday September 11, 2015.

He will once again come face to face with the New Zealander Walsh and Storl, but will also have added challenge in the form of World Champion USA’s Joe Kovacs and Poland Olympic Champion Tomas Majeswski, along with USA’s duo Ryan Whiting and Reese Hoffa who should make for an epic competition.

Richards currently sits outside the top eight challengers for the Diamond League trophy, but will be hoping to spark a series ending victory on Friday. The top two contenders for the crown are Kovacs and Storl, who sit on 14 points, with victory for either or the higher placing in the order granting them the title.
