After the preliminary round of the Discus event in Beijing Jason Morgan was left distraught after he failed to advance to the finals of the event despite holding the second furthest throw this season.

Morgan who achieved the mark of 68.19 national record set in June 2015, was in high spirits and was eyeing probably his best season ever this year.

He could only managed a mark of 60.85m in his best attempt, falling short of the automatic qualifying standard of 65.00m and missed out on the appearance in the final for the third time in his career.

His teammate Fedrick Dacres, the former World Youth and World Junior champion became the first Jamaican to participate in a World Championship final at the senior level.

Morgan, a self-coached athlete, admitted via social media that he is in need of professional coaching help to get over his next hurdle as he prepares for the Olympic games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil 2016.

“I realize now that it’s really challenging and I finally feel that I can’t do it alone,” he stated. “Hopefully next year will be a good year and I am hoping for some changes where I can find myself a coach and don’t have to be working full time while trying to get a medal”.

The curtains of Beijing World championship are now down, but Morgan is now trying to recover and increase his intrinsic motivation as he concentrates on the sport he loves and seeks to fulfill the dream of becoming a champion.

He is quite aware that consistency may the name of the game that he needs to master.

“It just has to do with consistency. Nothing consistent for me throughout the year and I think that’s why when it comes to a championships it’s really difficult to stay on task,” he admitted.

With an ever positive spirit and true self belief, Morgan will rise beyond his disappointments of Beijing and press onward to Olympic Games.

“It’s just one of those days, I am always positive despite what I face daily but I know one day better must come,” said Morgan.

Dream it, believe it and you’ll achieve it…
