JAAA moves to protect Brand Jamaica and sponsors at World Championships

Amidst a growing trend of gorilla marketing and a strong desire for outside parties to associate themselves with the strong Jamaican brand at the World Championships now on in Beijing China, the Jamaica Administrative Athletics Association (JAAA) has moved swiftly to protect themselves and their sponsors at the event.

In a release dated Monday August 24th the JAAA’s indicated clearly who the official team sponsors are at the event. Below is the full text of the release:

The Jamaica Athletic Administrative Association (JAAA) wishes to advise that only the entities set out below are the authorized sponsors of the JAAA and the Jamaican Track and Field Team to the 2015 IAAF World Championships (Beijing 2015) and no other entity other than an authorized sponsor is entitled to publish or advertise in any form any association with the JAAA or the Jamaican Track and Field Team to the 2015 IAAF World Championship (Beijing 2015). This includes any reference to or use of the team uniform or insignia. Any activity undertaken to promote and commercialize any company other than the official sponsors by suggesting any connection with the JAAA or the Jamaican Track and Field Team is completely unauthorized.
