Jamaica qualified for their first ever CONCACAF Gold Cup final tonight when they defeated defending champions the USA 2-1 inside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Heading into the games as huge underdogs, the Winfried Schafer coached team showed good composure early on before having to withstand a period of USA dominance midway the first half.

However, the Jamaicans would score first when returning striker Darren Mattocks showed great athleticism to head home in the 31st minute.

Five minutes later the Reggae Boyz doubled their lead courtesy of a beautifully struck free kick from Giles Barnes.

The USA pulled a goal back three minutes after the interval when captain Michael Bradley scored from close range.

Jamaica was able to withstand all that the USA threw at them for the remainder of the match as they booked their spot in the final for the very first time.

More to come…
