Money woes interrupt Reggae Boyz Gold Cup preparations

Published on

On the eve of the start of the Gold Cup it has been revealed that all is not well in the camp of the Reggae Boyz.
Members of the Jamaican team failed to show up for training on Monday as they were unhappy with the financial terms being offered by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) to play in the tournament.

A high level meeting was convened by the JFF President, Captain Horace Burrell, in an effort to resolve the issues and it is believed that after the lengthy meeting a compromise has been reached, which will see the Boyz back in training and ready to play on Wednesday when they begin against Costa Rica.

Jamaica was lauded for their performances at the recently concluded Copa America despite not scoring a goal, losing 1-0 to Uruguay, Paraguay and finalists Argentina.

It is being hoped by an anxious nation that the performances will spill over and that the Boyz will have a deep run in the Gold Cup and be able to find the back of the next with regularity.
