West Indies aim to stop majestic India

ICC Cricket World Cup,West Indies,India,MS Dhoni,Chris Gayle,

India who have been in form and have proven that they are title contenders with their three dominant wins in the group so far, will be looking to win this one against the West Indies to win four from four tomorrow at Perth starting at 1:30 am Jamaican time. India are the defending champions and would be looking to to defend their title successful here in Australia.

India has played as a team so far and have shown how strong they can be even against stronger opponents and have finished off weaker opponents in a business like fashion. Some would say the team, that has been captained by Ms Dhoni, has not been tested yet but they are playing consistent cricket and have not found themselves in any hole to climb out of. In all of their three group games thus far, they have taken control from ball one when either batting or bowling first.

Mohammed Shami has been doing the damage at the top of innings with the ball. Ashwin is the man responsible for the middle overs to make sure teams don’t get too many runs then, the rest of the bowlers have held their own and have contributed wickets.

However, the West Indies have had mixed performances in the tournament so far but still have a chance of advancing to the quarter-finals and will not take this match lightly knowing that India has already qualified for the quarter-finals.

The Caribbean team has won two and lost two of their four games thus far. They seem to be very confident when batting first since that is where they are stronger. If the pitch should play like the game that Australia defeated Afghanistan, then this toss could be a bad one to lose for either team.

The name Chris Gayle in any team means that that team cannot be taken lightly. The Jamaican born, hard hitting batsman has already stamped his class at the tournament, becoming the first batsman to score a double hundred at an World Cup and the fourth to do so in one day internationals. When you look at the other batsmen they have always enjoyed batting against Indians bowlers and that will have a main say come Friday.

Captain Jason Holder will be looking to give his best in the bowling department to ensure he keeps the Indian batsmen at bay. Jerome Taylor will be looking to get quick wickets and not bee expensive. Should the Caribbean team have a chance they will need Andre Russell and Sulieman Benn to also be at their best against a strong Indian batting line up.
