Schools Challenge Quiz

Kingston College began the title defence of their Schools Challenge Quiz crown with a comfortable win over Manchester High, as the 2015 edition of the most popular local program began today.

The North Street based school, celebrating their 90th Anniversary this year, have set their sights on retaining this most coveted trophy and got off to the perfect start against an over matched Manchester team.

The Manchester High team put up a good showing in the first segment and led at the first break by a score of 12-11 over the champions.

KC took over the lead after the second section in which both teams gave another good account of themselves.

With the scores 33-29 to KC heading into the buzzer section the Purples played with poise, choosing their spots to answer carefully while Manchester had a see saw section losing about as much as they gained, to end the match with two points less than they entered the final section.

At the final buzzer it was Kingston College 41-27 Manchester High. The champions advance to round two of the knock out competition.
