Wolmer’s and Holy Trinity battle for spot in LIME Super Cup final

The inaugural LIME Super Cup Competition will feature another double header at the National Stadium this Saturday. The competition has been well received by fans so far. The Super Cup started out with 16 teams, eight teams from the rural area and eight teams from the urban area and has now boiled down to four teams.

The first semi-final on Saturday will feature favourites, Wolmer’s and rank outsiders, Holy Trinity. Both teams have faced each other twice already this season in the group stages of the Manning Cup. Wolmer’s ran out winners on both occasions scoring 1-0 and 4-0 victories and will be full of confidence and belief that they can get the job done once more.They will be aware however that Holy Trinity is a much improved unit that has defied the odds to reach this stage of the competition.

In their first game in this competition, Holy Trinity turned back the challenge of the much vaunted Clarendon College when they held their nerves to win in a penalty shootout at Sabina Park, before stunning Garvey Maceo 4-0 at the National Stadium to put themselves one win away from a spot in the final of this lucrative competition.

Wolmer’s blanked the dangerous St.Georges College at the National Stadium in the second round when they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners and followed that up with a 4-0 thrashing of Haile Selassie in the Manning Cup in midweek. Their tails will be up and they will feel that a spot in the finals is theirs for the taking.

Based on the results seen in the competition so far, the result will be far from a foregone conclusion as Holy Trinity has improved significantly as the season has progressed.

Fans can expect a good game between these two teams.
