PUMA lands much sought after Francis

Calabar High quarter miler and Jamaican sprint sensation Javon Francis has been signed by German-based sports good manufacturers PUMA. The 19-year-old competed in his final year at the famous Boys and Girls Championships this year.

Francis, caught the eyes and imagination of the world, while anchoring Jamaica to a silver medal in the 4x400m at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow, starting his lap in fifth place before splitting 44.00 seconds to power Jamaica to a podium finish.

Francis is already well established at a young age as both a track sensation and extravagant performer and was this year received the 2014 People’s Choice award for performance of the year.

“It’s an exciting time,” said Francis.

“I am grateful that PUMA recognises my talent and have offered me such support, especially because of the commitment PUMA has for track and field in Jamaica.

This partnership is a big moment for me, and I’m proud that they see such potential in me.”
