Jamaica suffers severe blow to 4×400 women’s relay team leading up to the World Relays

Jamaica’s 4×400 women’s mile relay team has been curtailed for the inaugural IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas following the injury of one of the top athletes on the team.

Stephenie Ann McPherson will not be taking part in the World Relays in Nassau this weekend after suffering a leg injury. The team leaves today with uncertainties of who will be replacing the improving quarter miler in the 4×400 women’s mile relay team.

Nevertheless, Technical Team leader, Maurice Wilson has indicated that Novlene Mills should be able to take over and lead the team forward. Novlene Mills who have landed the third fastest time in the year competes alongside teammates Shericka Jackson, Anastacia Leroy, Christine Day and Kaliese Spencer.Jamaica’s 4×400 women’s mile relay team has been curtailed for the inaugural IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas following the injury of one of the top athletes on the team.
