John Mills aims to make it 20 in a row

Kingston, Jamaica – The 36th running of the INSPORTS Junior High & All-Age Athletics Championships get underway today, April 9th 2014, at the National Stadium.

Kingston, Jamaica – The 36th running of the INSPORTS Junior High & All-Age Athletics Championships get underway today, April 9th 2014, at the National Stadium.

 

 The three-day event runs from April 9-11, starting 8:30 am each day, with the official Opening Ceremony taking place on April 10 at 1:00 pm.

 

A total of 55 finals will be contested during the period with John Mills Junior High seeking to extend their amazing record to 20 consecutive victories and 22 titles overall.

 

Throughout the years this event has produced two notable Olympians in Kerron Stewart and Markino Buckley.

 

Stewart won the silver and bronze in the 100m and 200m finals respectively at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, while Buckley finished seventh in the 400m hurdles final at the said Games.

 

 

Some of the participating schools are John Mills, Windward Road, Cockburn Gardens, Louise Bennett-Cloverly, Rock Hall, Maverly, Constant Spring, Melrose, New Day, Seaward, Red Hills, Shortwood Practising and Calabar.
