It is being reported in the press that Jamaica’s most decorated female sprinter of all time, Veronica Campbell-Brown has been cleared by the IAAF and is free to resume her track and field career.

There was a belief that the sprinter’s career may have come to an end as speculation was rife that she would receive a two year ban after testing positive for a banned substance at last year’s Jamaica International Invitational track and field meet in Kingston Jamaica.

The sprinter was cleared of any wrong doing in Jamaica and then the decision was sent to the IAAF for ratification. Based on the length of time it has taken for the highest body to make a determination, it was being speculated that Campbell-Brown would receive the harshest possible sanction.
