The West Indies will be playing for pride when they face Ireland in the second Twenty 20 at Sabina Park tomorrow, as they were humiliated in the first match yesterday.
The World 20/20 champions suffered a 6 wicket defeat to the visiting Irish team who were getting their first taste of victory against the Windies in this format.
Batting first the West Indies were restricted to a paltry 116 for 8 off their allotment with no batsman able to get beyond 20 runs; Chris Gayle topscoring with 18.
In reply the Irish were led to victory at 117-4 courtesy of an unbeaten knock of 40 from Ed Joyce, in 19.1 overs.
The two teams will meet again on Friday at the same venue for the second match. Match time is 2:00 o’clock local time.
