Boxing Extravaganza at Boys’ Town

The 5th Boxing Extravaganza which is hosted by Boys’ Town Gym takes place tomorrow beginning at 7:00 pm at Boys’ Town in Rema.  It will feature juniors and cadets aged between twelve to seventeen years.

The 5th Boxing Extravaganza which is hosted by Boys’ Town Gym takes place tomorrow beginning at 7:00 pm at Boys’ Town in Rema.  It will feature juniors and cadets aged between twelve to seventeen years.

They are scheduled to compete in various weight categories including light weight, feather weight, bantam weight and welter weight.  The boxers will be drawn from four gyms in the corporate area.  They are Sugar/Olympic gym, Bruising Gym, the national gym – Stanley Couch Gym and the host gym – Boys Town.

The final list of boxers will be known tomorrow morning after the weight-in at the Stanley Couch Gym.

According to Kingsley Goodison of the Jamaica Boxing Board of Control who has responsibility for the junior programme, “this annual fight card for the juniors and cadets is designed to provide a forum where they can gain competition experience before performing on the bigger stage.”
