Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals Thursday night divisional rivalry.

Thursday night games are difficult for teams because they have less time to prepare and less time to recover from games played on Sundays; especially if players have smallest injury, that extra day of rest counts for recovery. On the other hand, both teams will have a extended amount of time to prepare for the following week as they won’t have to play on Sunday.

The 5-1 Seahawks are looking to take a two game lead in the NFC West, while the Cardinals who are tied for third place at 3-3; lost to the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday. Do not let their records fool you, a team played today may not be the same team playing tomorrow as injuries begins to take a toll and coaches try to find ways to adjust their game plans.

On Sunday the power house Seahawks struggled to defeat the Tennessee Titans 20-13; they will rely heavily on the defense to create chances for the offense, that only scored two touchdowns on five trips to red zone which is relatively a slow start to what fans expect.

Look for Richard Sherman to lock out Larry Fitzgerald of the Cardinals passing game, he has also been nursing a hamstring. Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer might not even try to target Fitzgerald as he had thrown nine of his eleven interceptions in a past four games and two on Sunday.

The Cardinals are 2-0 at home, on Sunday they were able to go toe to toe with 49ers until the third quarter; until tight end Vernon Davis and running back Frank Gore turned on the boost to score 10 points and put the game away. The Seahawks have similar weaponry in Marshawn Lynch that ran for 77 yards and two touchdowns, he also caught four passes for 78 yards.

This should be an interesting battle between the division rivals. Kickoff is at 8:30 on the NFL Network.
