The quarter finals of the Flow Champions Cup gets underway today with the playing of the first two games. Seven of the eight remaining teams are premier league clubs with the only non-premier league team being St. Mary based Axum FC , the only parish champions left in the competition.

Arnett Gardens will host Axum at the Anthony Spauldings Sports Complex in a game set to kick off at 5pm. Both teams are familiar with each other and fans can expect a good cup-tie as the teams search for a spot in the semifinals. Despite the gulf in class Arnett will know better than to underestimate their opponents in this knock-out affair.

The other quarter final on today is between premier league cellar dwellers Portmore United and Harbour View. Portmore have lost all three games played so far in this season’s Red Stripe Premier League to be rooted at the foot of the table and Harbour View have managed to fair only slightly better, claiming a solitary point from main rivals Boys Town.

Both teams will welcome the distraction of the Cup tie to take their minds of the league woes and focus on claiming a semifinal spot in a competition that runs for only eight weeks while  offering  the cash incentive of $1million dollars to the winners.

The eighteen games played so far have produced sixty nine goals at almost 4 goals per game so the fans can expect goals galore tonight. The game at the Ferdie Neita Park kicks off at 7pm.
