Nothing humble about the Lions!!!

The silky smooth attacking midfielder secured all three points for his Kingston based club who cooled the flames of the high flying Waterhouse FC on Sunday night at Drewsland. The highly fancied Waterhouse which was suffering their first defeat in two games remained on three points and have dropped to fourth spot. 

 

Humble Lion who are leaders of the league on goal difference, maintained their winning ways with a 2-0 win over Portmore United in the late kickoff at the Ferdie Neita Park. Goals by Jermaine Fletcher and Wolry Wolfe in the 20th and 24th minutes pushed Humble Lion to maximum six points following their 1-0 win over Arnett Gardens last week. On Thursday, Wolfe, the captain of the team was immediately substituted in the first half by coach Geoffrey Maxwell after giving away a goal in Humble Lions’ 0-4 loss at Arnett Gardens in the Flow Champions Cup. Portmore’s poor start continued losing their second consecutive match to be the only team without a point after two games at the bottom of the league. 

 

At Collie Smith Drive, champions Harbour View had to come from behind in a 1-1 draw with Boys Town. Asrick Samuels put home team Boys Town in front a minute before half time with a hard low drive but substitute Donovan Edwards fired home in the 79th minute for a share of the points. Both teams are on one point after losing their opening fixtures last week. 

 

Former champions Tivoli Gardens climbed into third spot  with four points after their 0-0 draw with Rivoli United at the Spanish Town Prison Oval. The Calvert Fitzgerald-coached Rivoli inched to two points following their opening day draw with August Town. 

 

Donovan Duckie and Montego Bay United kick-started their season with a comprehensive 2-0 win over Sporting Central Academy at Catherine Hall. Bahamian Lesly St Fleur opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Ronaldo Rodney sealed victory in the 46th minute as Montego Bay moved to three points and into sixth spot. Clarendon-based Sporting Central slipped to fifth spot on three points. 

 

Meanwhile at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, Arnett Gardens were left disappointed after being held to a 1-1 draw by the promoted August Town. The towering Newton Sterling fired Arnett into a 43rd minute lead before Richard Orrett silenced the home crowd in the 56th minute. Arnett had a glorious chance to claim all three points but Kirk Ramsey missed from the penalty spot with less than 15 minutes to play. August Town who also drew their opening match moved to two points and into seventh spot while Arnett are ninth with a point.
