in stoppage time, August Town will be looking to pick up the pieces and get the three vital points today against Volvo United that will take them back to the Red Stripe Premier League.

August Town are on seven points; one more than Wadadah who host, already qualified Rivoli United, in the day’s other game.

For August Town, the equation is simple, win today and go up, any other result will result in complications that they do not wish to ponder.

Speaking after the tough loss to Rivoli last week Sunday, August Town coach Christopher Bender said : “It’s about getting them together see how the injuries go, refocus the team and again keep the team on track and realizing that our fate is in our own hands still. It’s not about holding down heads now it’s about digging in deep and realizing that we still have our objective to meet.”

An honest talking Bender was frank in his assessment of his team’s loss -“we never deserved to win this game today, we never play well enough, we never created enough chances. Even when we were in the ascendency we never look like we were capable of scoring in terms of our effort towards goal so there is no excuse we just have to put this one behind us and go again.”

August Town is a team filled with veterans, some of whom have won the Premier League before and they will be looking for these experienced campaigners to do the trick.  A player that springs to mind is Oneil ‘Chippy’ McDonald, a player who has scored key goals so far this season to help set up today’s monumental clash.

On securing the necessary win today, Bender said, “we have enough players in the team with good characters to secure the three points.”
