After struggling for the first half of the 2016-2017 Red Stripe Premier League season, Boys Town FC and Waterhouse FC will both be heading to the transfer market as soon as the window opens in order to strengthen their respective squads.

Both teams have struggled from the opening weeks of the season and are currently propping up the league after 17 games played of the 33 games regular season.

For all intents and purposes, Marvin Tate would have coached his last game at Waterhouse FC this season after his team succumbed to their third loss in four games at the hands of the UWI FC on Sunday.

A narrow 1-0 loss, their third such defeat in a string of bad results, has seen the former champions slip back into the relegation zone as they remain on 11 points and in 11th place in the 12 team league.

The Red Stripe Premier League is living up to the expectations of providing entertaining football for 33 rounds and with five rounds of matches to go things are looking gloomy for some teams and managers while things are looking bright and and promising for others.

With Arnett Gardens romping six points clear of Waterhouse FC at the top of the pile, all eyes will be on other ongoing battles in the league as the action gets back underway on Sunday.

Premier League strugglers, Barbican FC saw their fairytale run in the KSAFA Jackie Bell Knock-Out competition come to a dramatic and brutal end, at the final hurdle, when they were beaten 3-2 by Waterhouse FC at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium last Thursday.

The game was arguably not one of the most thrilling Cup finals of the decade but was entertaining nonetheless as Waterhouse FC came back from 2-1 down at half-time to clinch the win in stoppage time.

As the final round of the Red Stripe Premier League gets underway no team wants to drop any point at this all important stage where it's still anybody's take for the top four spots in the league and a place in the semi-finals.
