As the curtains came down on the 2016 staging of the JAAA/Supreme Ventures National Senior Athletics Championships, there was mix feelings of joy and disappointments coming from different circles on Sunday's final day.

There were nine scheduled finals for the championship final day. Action got going at 5:00 with action from the women’s Javelin and High Jump Finals.

21-year old University of Arkansas athlete, Clive Pullen, unleashed an new personal best Triple jump mark of 16.90m to win the National Senior Championships gold and edged his way into this Summer's Olympic Games in Rio Brazil in August.

The women's 200m will be an interesting match up with the defending National Champion Elaine Thompson up against many times and double Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown. Thompson leads on time, with a 22.16 season best, while Campbell Brown is at 22.29 seconds.
