Portmore United will take on Arnett Gardens in the finals of the Red Stripe Premier League on Monday Night in what is expected to be a sizzling contest. Both teams have overcome ordinary seasons after finishing fifth and sixth respectively and find themselves in a position to capture either their sixth or fifth premier league title.

Girvon Brown is currently playing for his fourth club in the Red Stripe Premier League and he has never felt more at home. The player joined the club in their first year in the RSPL last season and ended as their leading scorer with 14 goals.

Both the University of the West Indies FC and Portmore United FC are expected to lay it all on the line this afternoon when they face off at 3pm the UWI Bowl for the chance to play against Arnett Gardens in the finals of the Red Stripe Premier League.

The University of the West Indies opened up a four point gap at the top of the Red Stripe Premier League when they thrashed former champions Tivoli Gardens 4-0 in the opening fixture of the Monday Night double header, before Portmore United put on a similar 4-0 pasting on desperate Boys Town on a cold, wet night inside the National Stadium.

Portmore United climbed to the top of the Red Stripe Premier League for the first time in the 2016-2017 season when they registered their third win on the trot on Wednesday, clipping former league leaders UWI FC 1-0 at the UWI Mona Bowl. An 87th minute strike from Maalique Foster was enough to earn all three points for the visitors on a day when all six games played in the league, ended in 1-0 score lines.
