Jamaican high schools Holmwood Technical and Excelsior High along with Dominica State College all scored wins on day one of the AFNA Champion of Champions High School Netball Tournament held at the Leila Robinson Courts in Kingston Jamaica on Sunday.

Holmwood Technical who faced Christ Church Foundation of Barbados in the first game of the competition ran out comfortable 35-23 winners after a slow start that saw them trailing 4-6 at the end of the first quarter.

The INF World Rankings annual update sees an historic change within the top three.  For the first time ever, England move into second place, making this the first time that the top two hasn’t included both Australia and New Zealand.

Jamaica is once again making a trip back to the 16th Caribbean Netball Association (CNA) Jean Pierre Youth Championship slated for Barbados from March 31- April 9 2016.

The young Sunshine Girls last participated in the regional tournament in 2014, which they won convincingly in Antigua and Barbuda. They opted out of the tournament in 2015, under the former leadership of the Jamaica Netball Association.

The Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA) 2015-16 netball season got underway on Thursday October 15th with the usual rally at the Lela Robinson Courts in Kingston.

Twenty eight prep schools took part in the one day event and Wolmers Prep emerged champions after they defeated Hydel Prep 4-3 in a final that went to extra time.

Vaz Prep defeated last year’s league champions Quest Prep 2-0 in the third place play-off.

The Sunshine Girls produced a virtuoso fourth quarter performance at both ends of the court to score a resounding 10 points win over arch rivals England, to clinch their three game netball Test Series 2-1 at the National Indoor Centre in Kingston Jamaica on Tuesday night.

The electric atmosphere inside the arena before tip-off told a story of high anticipation from the fans who filled the facility.

The Sunshine Girls ran out easy winners in their first match in the three game series against England on Saturday going coast to coast to draw first blood.

Game two saw a reverse in fortunes where the English Roses went coast to coast to level the series at 1-1 on Sunday. The game ended prematurely due to a power failure but there was only going to be one winner in the match regardless of how long they played.

Netball Jamaica launched its 2015 World Netball Championship this morning at the Jamaica Olympic Association in Kingston. It is dubbed Gold Rush Down Under focusing on the fact the it will be held in Australia.

The Clarendon Juici Patties Senior Netball League saw a clash of the two Winston Never coached squads, Jamalco and Cable Pro going head to head for the crown. At the sound of the final whistle, it was the black and green clad ladies of Jamalco that were left smiling after copping their 10 straight title.
