Omar McLeod lifted the gloom in the Jamaican camp on Monday when he won gold in the men’s 110m hurdle final at the IAAF World Championships in London. Following two days of despair where both Usain bolt and Elaine Thompson had failed to land expected gold medals, it was left up to the Olympic Champion to deliver the goods.

After enduring a forgettable day two and day three at the IAAF World Championships in London, Jamaican track and field fans will be hoping for a better day four and that the country will finally land what has been an elusive gold medal.

The 2012 World Junior 400m hurdles champion and 2014 Commonwealth bronze medalist Janieve Russell, based on her early season performance wears the favourite hat, albeit in a wide open field and will aim to secure her second national title and another trip to a major international championship.

Jamaica will continue its hunt for Gold medals in Rio, Brazil on the 7th day of track and field as they chase medals in the 400m hurdles finals for both, men and women as well as the 200m for men, which will close the day on Thursday.
