Photo: Former Reggae Boy Jermaine Johnson was shot and injured earlier today in Kingston, Jamaica. 

 

 

 

 

Former Reggae Boy and current Tivoli Gardens striker Jermaine “Teddy” Johnson was shot an injured some late this afternoon in the Tivoli Gardens community.

Johnson was among a group of three persons who were shot an injured in what was described as a drive by shooting.

All three persons were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) where they were treated and are now said to be in stable condition.

Tivoli Gardens got the better of Portmore United in the Red Stripe Premier League Ash Wednesday fixture, thanks to a brace from their talisman and leading goal scorer Jermaine “Teddy” Johnson who scored either side of a striker from Ewan Grandison who netted for the visitors on the stroke of half time.

Second placed Tivoli Gardens were held to a 0-0 draw by fourth place Humble Lion at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex in the only game between the teams in the top six of the Red Stripe Premier League on Sunday. Elton Thompson was denied the winner for Tivoli Gardens by the linesman flag in the final minute of stoppage time in an intense and gripping contest.

Tivoli Gardens should have put the game to bed in the first fifteen minutes of play after a storming start, but lived to rue the missed chances as a grateful Humble Lion left West Kingston with a precious point.
