His time was later eclipsed by American Indoor World record holder Grant Holloway who lowered the world lead even further to 13.07s at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational.

History was made on Wednesday when American Grant Holloway, the 110m hurdles Outdoor World Champion broke the world indoor 60m hurdles record during the World Athletics Indoor Tour Madrid 2021. Holloway finished in 7.29 seconds, just 0.01 seconds faster than the 7.30 record previously held by Welsh sprinter Colin Jackson since 1994.
