The Honourable Olivia Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport announced today that the statue to be erected in honour of Jamaica’s leading female sprinter, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, is now in the island.

FIFA Development Officer to the South-East Caribbean, Howard McIntosh will host a group of delegates from the governing body of the ‘world’s game’ at a FIFA development workshop from Saturday, January 17 – Sunday, January 18 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. The group will then travel to Western Jamaica, where they will be in attendance for the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Championships Group-A match between Jamaica and the United States at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.

The 2010 Manning Cup Final in 2010 was a memorable day for many but for Jamiel Hardware and Bridgeport High, it was a day of disappointment. However, Hardware has used that disappointment as motivation and has now moved on to play in the USL Pro league in America for the Harrisburg Islanders.

Twenty five coaches, including nine females, completed a one week course focused on preparing female football players, at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Technical training centre recently.

The participants were treated to five intense days of hands on coaching where they had the opportunity to work with the Jamaica Under-15 and Senior Reggae Girlz. Both teams are preparing for competitions next month so it came in as ideal training sessions for them.

The World Cup has been over for exactly one week now with the Germans emerging as champions of the world. The focus now shifts towards club football around the world with the FIFA transfer window now open and will end come September 1st 2014.

St. Jago High School swept most of the awards at the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/KFC/Locker Room Sports, Schoolgirl Football presentation ceremony for the 2014 season.

The school was claiming its first hold on the trophy in ten years and walked away with four of the top awards in addition to the winning trophy.

Wednesday, June 18, 2014 is the day Group 5 of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) 2014 Women’s Cup, kicks off at the Estadio Panamericano in the Dominican Republic, when hosts Dominican Republic faces St Lucia starting at 4 p.m.

With the late withdrawal of the Anguilla national team, these three teams will compete in an exciting three way battle in this group namely; host Dominican Republic, Jamaica and St Lucia.

On Friday, June 20 St Lucia meets Jamaica and on Sunday, June 22, the Dominican Republic face-off against Jamaica.

The KSAFA Confederation will host two festivals under the Digicel/JFF Grassroots programme at Breezy Castle (Rae Town) and the Excelsior Community College on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15.
 
On each day one hundred (100) kids aged 6-12 will be taken through drills in:
 

·  dribbling

·  goal scoring

·  goalkeeping

·  passing

·  running exercises

·  movement with the ball

·  ball control and

·  small sided games
