When the protracted English Premier League season concludes today, one of three teams near the top of the table will be left bitterly disappointed.
In what has to be one of the most interesting chases for Champions League places in the English Premier League, two of three teams, Manchester United (63 points), Chelsea (63 points) and Leicester City (62 points) will seal their place, while the other will be left holding the bag.

The Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was charged for comments made on Saturday about the referee against Southampton. Mourinho was left displeased with decisions made by the referee on the day after his team went down to 3-1 to Southampton. Mourinho in an interviewed questioned why referees don’t want to give his team penalties.

The UEFA Champions League draw took place on Thursday, providing some interesting match-ups for the fans to look forward to.
Jose Mourinho will take his Chelsea team to Porto, the place where he won his first major European title. Chelsea has also drawn Dynamo Kiev and Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
Arsene Wenger must be tired of the sight of Bayern Munich, having seen his team knocked out by the German champions in the last two seasons but will have to cope with playing them twice this season.
The returning Manchester United will face PSV Eindhoven, CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg.

Former champions Manchester City strolled past defending champions Chelsea 3-0 as they went top of the Barclays Premier League on Sunday. City took a 1-0 lead in at half time after Sergio Aguero found the target in the 31st minute and went on to score two more in the second half via skipper Vincent Kompany and Feranandinho late in the game.
The Barclays Premier League takes centre stage this weekend with Chelsea looking to extend their lead at the top and get themselves out of sight. Jose Mourinho seems to be happy with the situation at the moment and even insisted that he wants to remain at Chelsea for as long as possible. Manuel Pellegrini on the other hand hinted at a Wilfried Bony debut against Newcastle and hopes his Man City team will make up some ground in the title race.
