Chelsea got Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, a tie they would have favoured over Real Madrid or holders Bayern Munich, when the draw was held today.

The other block-buster semi-final will be between Bayern Munich and many time champions Real Madrid.

Chelsea will play away at the Vincente Calderon stadium in the first leg before returning to Stamford Bridge in an effort to make a third final in seven years.

Real Madrid will host the champions Bayern in the first leg before travelling to the Allianz Arena in a bid to dethrone the European champions.

The first leg of the ties are to be played on April 22/23 and the return legs on 29/30.
