Sunshine Girls ready fro Commonwealth Games

KINGSTON, JAMAICA July 2, 2014: Netball Jamaica is pleased to announce the Team which will represent Jamaica at the 2014 Commonwealth Games scheduled for Glasgow Scotland from July 23 to August 3.

Following months of intense training the 12 players plus 2 reserves have been selected from an original squad of 21 to represent Jamaica at the Games.

The Selection Committee, comprising Technical Director Jill McIntosh, Coach Minneth Reynolds and long-time Selector Patrick Brissett observed the players at regular training sessions; the Berger Elite League; at inter-squad matches and during other specially arranged matches and finally, during the recently concluded three match series against Barbados (from which the Sunshine Girls emerged 3-0 winners).

Eight members of the squad that played in the Tri-Series earlier this year against England and New Zealand are among the squad for the Games.

The full squad reads: Sasher-Gaye Henry, Paula Thompson, Khadijah Williams, Vangelee Williams, Kasey Evering, Stacian Facey, Malysha Kelly, Nicole Aiken-Pinnock, Romelda Aiken, Shanice Beckford, Jhaniele Fowler-Reid and Thristina Harwood. The two reserves are Nicole Dixon and Deneen Taylor.

The members of the Sunshine Girls Management Team to the Commonwealth Games, headed by President Marva Bernard will include:
