Jamaica and West Indies allrounder Marlon Samuels, has been relieved of bowling duties pending an ICC assessment of his current bowling actions, that was reported in the final Test on the tour to Sri Lanka.

The West Indian has allowed the 14 day period, post reporting of his action, in which an assessment could have been done, to elapse.

This assessment would provide eligibility for him to continue to bowl in international cricket. The cut date was on November 1, 2015, having been reported on October 19, 2015.

An ICC statement read: "After the second ODI against Sri Lanka, Samuels will not be allowed to bowl in international cricket until the results of his assessment are known."

Samuels and his West Indies team is currently in Sri Lanka, trying hard to prevent a white wash in their ODI Series, which they trail two nil. Samuels played as Captain in the second ODI match, after captain Jason Holder was suspended for a match by ICC.

The final ODI is on Saturday in Pallekele.
