Kevin Nedrick is a man on a mission, a simple and straight forward mission. Win three gold medals and break three records at this year’s ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships.

The Petersfield High school’s strong man has been having a great build up to this year’s Champs and threw a personal best of 60.85m to win the Boys Javelin Open event at the Youngster Goldsmith Classics on Saturday.

Nedrick threw his personal best on his final throw and his reaction after, said it all.

Speaking with a big smile on his face, Nedrick told Yardie Sports of his plans for Champs.

“Me and my coach have been working very hard, putting in more strength (work) than even last year. Last year I threw 59 so you know more strength this year so I am supposed to be breaking the record.

“I will be doing the three events (javelin, shot put and discus) and I plan to go for the three records as well,” he promised.

Nedrick will certainly start favourite in the three disciplines as he chases an historic three records and three gold medals in the field at Champs.
