With all the senior schoolboy football titles but one decided so far for 2016 ISSA/FLOW Schoolboy Football season, two of the more storied schools in the island, Jamaica College and Cornwall College vie for the right to call themselves the best team in Jamaica.

The two will meet at 6:00pm on Saturday at the Catherine Hall Stadium in Montego Bay in the “Champion of Champions” – Olivier Shield game.

Cornwall College has had a dream season in the DaCosta Cup, winning all their games on the way to their 12th title in the competition. Coach Dr. Dean Weatherly celebrated his birthday the day after winning the title and will be looking for another champagne moment on Saturday.

Jamaica College has had an equally impressive season, drawing just one on their way to their fourth straight title in the Manning Cup competition.

JC is conditioned by Miguel Coley who has won the Manning Cup in his four years in charge at the Old Hope Road based institution. With three Olivier Shield titles already in the bag, he will be anxious to make it four in a row in this competition as well.

For Cornwall College, there will be high expectations of their hitman Jourdaine Fletcher who scored the first goal in DaCosta Cup final.

Peter Lee Vassell has been the perfect foil for Fletcher and was instrumental in the two goals scored by Cornwall College in their 2-1 finals win, first providing the assist for Fletcher before going on a mazy dribble that led to the second.

Jamaica College will need their captain Oquin Robinson to be at his immaculate best to protect the back four from the attacking prowess of the boys from the West.

JC is a solid unit and they will hope that Duhaney Williams and Donovan Dawkins report in tip top shape to carry the attack for the “True Blue”. Williams has led the line this season to top the scorers for coach Coley and would love to close out his high school career with more goals in what will be his one and only Olivier Shield appearance.

Dawkins has been used in a number of positions by Coley this season but as usual, the JC head coach uses him in a strikers’ role at season’s end. Tyreek Magee has been the creative spark in the JC middle and he could be the difference maker yet again.

This game, unlike all the other title deciders, is not a play to the finish, which means the title could ultimately be shared.

Cornwall College has not won the shield since 2001 and will want to grab a hold of it as they celebrate 120 years of existence.
