President of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Dave Cameron, speaking at the Melbourne Cricket Club where the Jamaica Tallawahs team had breakfast courtesy of sponsors, Foska Oats on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, commended the company for their continued support of the Jamaican franchise, the Jamaica Tallawahs, in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Cameron was also pleased that Foska Oats had come on as title sponsors for the summer camp at Melbourne and he thanked them for “understanding how important it is to start from the grassroots level.”

Trinidad and Tobago provided tax incentives for companies that provide sponsorship to sporting teams and Cameron suggested that all governments throughout the region should adopt a similar policy to encourage more corporate entities to get in at the early stages.

“Unfortunately most people like to see success before they want to be a part of what’s taking place, but we need to understand that if we give support from an early stage it will lead towards success, so I have to thank Foska Oats to coming on broad to provide for the youths”.

“Cooperate entities must realize the role they play when they sponsor these kids are the future, it make it easier for a youth to want to be a part of sports and not violence” president Cameron added.

With the Caribbean team’s recent form in international cricket, Cameron know how much support the kids need at the grassroots level in order for West Indies to reap success at the international level.

“I say thanks again to Foska Oats for supporting the future of West Indies cricket and thanks for supporting the Tallawahs team”, he concluded.

The Jamaica Tallawahs will play their first game of CPL15 when they take on the Barbados Tridents in Bridgetown on Tuesday.
