The 8th staging of the University of Technology (UTech) Track and Field Classic, dubbed the ‘Clash of Champions’ is set for the National Stadium on Saturday, 11th of April, 2015.

The meet will feature several future and current star athletes competing over 33 different events, in a nicely packed four hour meet, set to begin at 4 pm.

According to the organizers of the meet, Prep and Primary schools are set to face each other while high school rivals and collegiate stars are down for a rematch, along with a host of other senior national athletes, matching up with each other, both on the track and in the field.

Among the athletes scheduled to be on show are top MVP stars, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, running over 200m, Olympians Nesta Carter, Kaliese Spencer, Stephanie McPherson, O’Dayne Richards and Carrie Russell.

Top stars from the Glen Mills led Racers Track Club, along with athletes from club Sprint Tech are expected to grace the track on Saturday.

The relays for high schools and clubs should be among the events spectators can look forward to, as these teams seek to execute revenge on each other and fine tune preparations for the Penns Relays, coming up next month in the USA.

Chief among the clashes will be that of the UTech Track Club sprint relay team and the the Racers Lions. UTech boosts the fastest time in the world for 2015, and are the envy of top track clubs and institutions. They ran a brilliant 38.23 seconds to beat the Racers Lions at the Gibson/McCook Relays in February and are aiming to repeat the feat. An epic rematch is expected when both teams take to the track Saturday night.

Patron of this years meet, will be retired World Champion, sprint hurdler and national record holder Bridgette Foster- Hylton,

Tickets for the event will go on show at the stadium ticket office at 9 am on Saturday, at a cost of 1000, providing patrons with admission to the Grandstand.
