Reggae Girlz in crunch match against Mexico

The Reggae Girlz face a crunch match against rivals Mexico in 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship today.

The game which will be played at the RFK Stadium, Washington DC at 7:30 pm (6:30 pm Jamaica Time) will see both teams hunt second spot in the group, after they both got the better of Martinique in their previous encounters.

Jamaica got the better of Martinique by a score of 6-0 while Mexcio hammered the same opponents 10-0 which means that the Girlz need to win in order to finish ahead of Mexico and keep the World Cup dream alive.

Striker Shakira Duncan will carry the hopes for Jamaica who will need to keep it tight at the back against their Central American opponents.

Coach Merron Gordon has advised that the starting players for Jamaica for the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship match Jamaica vs Mexico will be: Nicole McClure (GK), Alicia Wilson (C), Sherona Forrester, Sashana Campbell, Monique Pryce Jodi-Ann McGregor, Christina Murray, Omolyn Davis, Donna-Kay Henry, Shaneka Gordon and Shakira Duncan.

Three teams from this qualifying round will automatically for the World Cup while the fourth placed team will play off against Ecuador for a fourth spot.
