Kemal Malcolm scored the all important goals for Arnett Gardens against Montego Bay United on Monday night as the now famous ‘Red Stripe Football Mondays’ got going for the first time this season.
Playing in front of a capacity crowd, the ‘Junglists’ were able to come away with a vital 1-0 win in a good spell of games which includes six wins in seven games.
Speaking with Yardie Sports after the game, Malcolm expressed his delight at getting the winner.
“Scoring the goal that proved to be the winner in the first Monday Night game of the season is a joy. Scoring the winner brings nothing but joy as it helped to secure the all important three points. The most important thing is to build on this now,” he said.
Malcolm credits the teams good run to the work they have been doing in training.
“If you came to training and saw the work we have been putting in you would realize that the result was inevitable. We have been working real hard and winning brings a good chemistry within the team so we are growing from strength to strength.”
He also sent out a warning to the rest of the league.
“We are heading straight to the top. We are 150% confident now. There is great confidence in the team and we just want to make our coach and our fans proud.”
Arnett Gardens has one of the most faithful set of fans but they are also among the most critical that can be found anywhere. They all left the ‘Complex’ smiling last night after seeing their team defeat the second placed team in the league.
