Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Six-A-Side Champions to be crowned on Sunday

The inaugural Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce/Waterhouse Six-A-Side Football Competition will culminate with the staging of the final on Sunday November 24, 2013, at 3:30 pm.

The inaugural Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce/Waterhouse Six-A-Side Football Competition will culminate with the staging of the final on Sunday November 24, 2013, at 3:30 pm.

 Varma Rangers will face-off against Dark Side in the final, at the Foska Oats Oval.

 Varma Rangers booked the spot in the final after they eclipsed Old Car Seaview 9-8 in a nerve wracking penalty shootout in semi-final one. Both teams had played out a tense 0-0 draw after regulation and extra-time.

Ryan Rodney scored in the second half of extra-time in a classic encounter for Dark Side who clipped Lion Den1-0 in the second semi-final.

The competition started on Saturday October 19, 2013, with a dress parade, which was won by Cuba ahead of Ashoka Road, and two opening matches. 

Twenty teams, divided into five (5) zones of four (4) teams each, played in a round-robin format and the top two teams advanced to the knockout phase.

There will be prizes for the top two teams, most valuable player, leading goal scorer, best defender and others.

The final will be preceded by a third-fourth play-off between Old Car Seaview and Lion Den at2:30 pm.
