CFU Women’s U-17 Finals begin in Haiti

The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) will stage its inaugural championship event when the Final round of the Women’s Under-17 Tournament is held on the grounds of the Sylvio Cator Stadium in Port-au-Prince, Haiti from September 18 – 30, 2013. 

The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) will stage its inaugural championship event when the Final round of the Women’s Under-17 Tournament is held on the grounds of the Sylvio Cator Stadium in Port-au-Prince, Haiti from September 18 – 30, 2013. 

 

The Finals will be played in two Groups involving eight teams, and the winner will be crowned Champions, and receive a trophy, at the end of the event. The Dominican Republic meets Bermuda two top teams from this historic final will advance to CONCACAF Under-17 finals set to be played in Jamaica in October. The first sets of games to be played in Group “A” will be Puerto Rico vs. the US Virgin Islands (USVI) on September 20, at 4:00pm while hosts Haiti face Antigua Barbuda at 6:30p.m.

 On September 22, USVI will encounter Haiti at 4:00 p.m. and at 6:30p.m., Antigua & Barbuda will challenge Puerto Rico. On September 24, USVI will take on Antigua & Barbuda at 4:00 p.m. and at 6:30p.m., the final game of Group “A” will be staged when Haiti face Puerto Rico. Group “B” will open with a clash between Dominican Republic and Bermuda on September 21, at 4:00 p.m., followed by the game between Trinidad & Tobago and Grenada at 6:30 p.m. On September 23, Grenada will face Dominican Republic at 4:00pm and at 6:30 p.m., Bermuda will tackle Trinidad & Tobago. 

Bermuda and Grenada will play the first game of the double header on September 25, at 4:00pm, while Trinidad & Tobago will face-off against Dominican Republic at 6:30pm. The semi-finals will be played on September 27, with the staging of the third and fourth playoff and the grand Final on September 29.
